The Library is located in the Kimmey House at 210 East Main Street, Westminster, Maryland.
From Baltimore: Westminster is 45 minutes northwest from Baltimore, using Interstate 795 and Maryland
Route 140. Turn left from Rte. 140 onto Center Street. At the traffic light, turn
left from Center Street onto Main Street. Travel approximately 2 blocks. The Historical
Society is on the right (look for the Visitor Center sign).
From Frederick: Travel east on either Interstate 70 or
Route 26. Exit at Route 27 and turn left [north] toward
Westminster. In Westminster, turn right onto Main Street.
Head east. The Historical Society if approximately 2 blocks past
the intersection with Center Street. HSCC in on the right (look
for the Visitor Center sign).
From Pennsylvania: Travel south on Route 97. South of
the Carroll County airport, follow the signs for Rt. 97 east. This
will take you to Rt. 140; follow Rt. 140 to Center Street. Turn
right onto Center Street. At the traffic light, turn left from
Center Street onto Main Street. Travel approximately 2 blocks. The
Historical Society is on the right (look for the Visitor Center sign).
Parking is located
beside the building on Sycamore Street [one-way, toward Main St.], on
South alley behind the building and behind Cockey's Tavern [next door to
the building, enter off South alley]; metered parking is available on Main Street.
A large, free parking lot is located a block away on Ralph Street,
behind the Church of the Ascension. Please
