Trip to the Waterford Homes and
Crafts Fair |
| It may have been foggy and rainy in Westminster but by the time we arrived in Waterford, Virginia, the rain had stopped and the weather was improving. It turned out to be a gloriously sunny and warm day to discover the charming town of Waterford. Founded in 1733 by Quakers from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the town of Waterford is a National Historic Landmark. For 64 years, the town has closed its streets and opened it arms to thousands of visitor who come to tour several historic homes and shop at dozens of craft booths. The juried craft show featured over 160 vendors selling furniture, ceramics, leather goods, baskets, textiles, jewelry - just about anything you could want. The sound of music drifted through the streets and the smell of wonderful foods wafted through the air as our group scattered to explore on their own. | ||
